Trade Deficit Increased In February
The U.S. goods and services deficit increased by 4.8% to $71.1 billion in February, according to the U.S. Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA)
- Imports in February were $258.3 billion a $1.7 billion drop from January.
- Exports in February were $187.3 billion a $5.0 billion drop from January.
The February deficit reflected a $2.8 billion increase in the goods deficit and a $500 million decrease in the services surplus. For the year, the trade deficit increased $56.5 billion, or 68.6 percent, from the same period in 2020.
