The Trade Deficit Rises Slightly to End 2023
The US trade deficit grew as expected to end 2023, according to the latest data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
- The trade deficit rose to $62.2 billion in December, up $0.3 billion from $61.9 billion in November and the biggest deficit since October.
On The Money. Economists hit the nail on the head projecting the deficit would rise to $62.2 billion.
EXIM. December exports rose 1.5% to $258.2 billion while December imports rose 1.3% to $320.4 billion.
Goods & Services. The goods deficit rose 0.7% to $89.1 billion and the services surplus rose 1.5% to $26.9 billion.
