Jobless claims fell for the second week in a row, according to the Department of Labor’s weekly report…(DOL)

  • W-O-W: The advance figure for seasonally adjusted initial claims fell 11,000 to 200,000 for the week ending May 28th.
  • Y-O-Y: Claims are down 48% from one year ago when they were 385,000.

NOTE: Kentucky saw the biggest drop in weekly claims with a 3,516 drop followed by Pennsylvania (-2,206) and Georgia (-1,983).

Continuing claims also fell for the week ending May 22nd after a slight increase the prior week…

  • W-O-W: The advance number for seasonally adjusted insured unemployment fell 34k to 1,309,000.
  • Y-O-Y: Continuing claims are now down 65% from one year when they were 3.77M.
