The day may have started optimistically but it sure didn’t end up there. When the clock struck 4:00 the NASDAQ closed down 286 points, or 2.18%, while the S&P and the Down were down 1.30% and 0.69%, respectively. Oil stayed under $110 but just barely at $109 and 10-year finished the day under 2.0% to close at 1.997%.
- The big loser of the day was DiDi Global which plummeted 44% on news that the Chinese ride-sharing leader put off plans to list its shares in Hong Kong.
- The big winner of the day was Pearson plc which soared 17.7% on news that there was a possible cash offer from Apollo Global Management Inc.
